On paper, WPT Global and GGPoker forbid the same core things: bots, real-time assistance, tools that read the table, and hiding your device or location. Where they differ is how much each room tells you in advance. GGPoker publishes a numbered list of offences. It names the prohibited software and attaches a penalty range to each. WPT Global uses one 32-item prohibited-activity list with penalties left to the operator's judgment. We read both rulebooks on 10 October 2026. This page compares what they say, not how well either enforces it, because no rulebook can show that.

What We Compared and What We Did Not

Sources: the WPT Global Terms and Conditions (clauses 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and Annex A), the GGPoker Security & Ecology Policy (version dated 13 March 2026), the GGPoker Terms and Conditions (EULA) and its Withdrawal Policy. All are public pages on the operators' own sites. We did not test either client, did not create accounts, and did not look at ban reports from players, since those are anecdotes with no way to separate a fair ban from an unfair one.

We did not check either license against a regulator's register. The licence lines below are what the operators state about themselves. Documents change, so treat the date on this page as part of the claim.

Counted from the documents: WPT Global's Annex A has 32 numbered items. The GGPoker SEP has 20 numbered prohibited activities (sections 2 to 21) plus a separate list of seven categories of banned tools and services.

Where They Differ Most

How specific the warning is

GGPoker spells out, offence by offence, what can happen to you. A player using a bot or real-time assistance reads "permanent ban, confiscation of funds" in the same paragraph that defines the offence. A player breaking the bum-hunting rule reads "warning, suspension, reward removal, permanent ban." WPT Global's list tells you what is prohibited, and clause 12.2 then gives one set of possible consequences for all of it. You cannot tell from the text whether a HUD gets a warning or a closure.

How much is named

GGPoker names remote-access products, hypervisors and emulators. WPT Global bans the categories in plain words, which covers the same ground but leaves less room to argue that a particular product was unclear. Neither document gives thresholds or says what triggers a review. That is normal for a security policy, but it means a player cannot know in advance where the line sits.

Fund Confiscation Risk

Both rooms reserve the right to keep the balance after a ban. GGPoker's confiscation clause explicitly reaches past the poker wallet into the main wallet and pending withdrawals. WPT Global's clause 14 says that on a breach it may terminate the account, "retain all monies" and void winnings in whole or in part. Keep only what you are prepared to have frozen, and do not treat a balance as yours until a withdrawal has landed.

Withdrawal conditions differ too. GGPoker's policy says withdrawals generally take 24 hours and up to 72 hours in some cases, returns money to the original deposit method, may ask for documents when withdrawals pass EUR 3,000 a month, and may pay winnings above $20,000 in instalments of up to $20,000 per calendar month. WPT Global's clause 6.3.2 requires rake or gross gaming revenue of at least 10% of your deposit before a withdrawal is processed, a condition we covered in our review of WPT Global's operator documents.

What a Rulebook Cannot Tell You

A long list of banned tools says what the room wants to prevent. It does not say how often it catches anything, how many accounts it closes by mistake, or how fast an appeal gets a human reply. Both documents give themselves wide discretion, and both call their own decision final at some stage. Evidence of enforcement quality requires independent data like published integrity reports, regulator complaint records or payout histories. We did not find any we could verify for either room, so we make no claim about which one is stricter in practice.

Decision-making tools are not allowed at the table on either room. Both documents say so in several places, with scanning rights written into the contract. Off-table study is a different matter, and our fair-play page sets out where we draw that line. For the pattern of trouble that "cheats and hacks" offers tend to cause, see why those offers are a trap.

Picking a Room by Risk, Not by Rumor

If your priority is to know the rules before you sit down, GGPoker's SEP is clearer. Its sentences are shorter, and it names software and specifies a penalty for each offence. If you play on WPT Global, read Annex A in full before you deposit, because it is the only place the prohibited behaviors are listed, and clauses 12.2 and 14 list the consequences.

Read the current version of the rules, note the document date, and keep a numerical record of your deposits and withdrawals for disputes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do WPT Global and GGPoker both scan players' devices?

Both documents reserve the right. WPT Global's clauses 8.3 and 12.5 refer to checks on concurrently running software and active applications. GGPoker's SEP 1.10 refers to scanning the machine or device and matching files against known automated programs. The documents do not say how often this happens.

Is a HUD allowed on either?

Third-party HUDs are on the prohibited list of both rooms. GGPoker's client has its own built-in HUD feature, which is a different thing from a third-party tool.

Which room penalizes bots harder?

GGPoker states permanent ban and confiscation for bots and for real-time assistance. WPT Global states a range of consequences up to account termination and retention of funds, without attaching them to a specific offence. On paper the outcomes overlap.

Is this site affiliated with either room?

No. WPTGlobalBot.com is independent and not connected to WPT Global, the World Poker Tour or GGPoker.
